Health & Safety Manager
We have a permanent role for a Health & Safety Manager based in Brisbane
To be successful you must have:
Significant experience in offshore environment with “hands on” operational experience
Seasoned corporate management experience- 10 years+
Your duties will include, but certainly not limited to:
• Work with senior management to ensure that there is a positive safety culture within the company .
• Ensure that the required safety management systems are in place and maintained
• Ensure that contractor selection and management is consistent with our safety culture.
• Provide advice to management regarding current regulatory requirements for safety compliance.
• Develop and implement programs, procedures, training and site/ region safety plans to ensure compliance to regulatory and corporate safety OHS&E requirements.
• Compile safety information for the site (e.g. injury and incident details, hazards reports, training records, etc) and prepare regular reports to management.
• Complete analysis of trends to identify areas of good / poor performance to enable proper targeting of safety programs, training and improvement plans.
• Conduct and schedule site audits/observations to verify safety systems are applied and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Conduct risk assessments of existing site/region activities and proposed new or changed activities in consultation with management to identify potential risk exposures and appropriate prevention and mitigation measures.
Qualifications, experience skills and abilities
• Qualifications in OHS Management.
• OHS Lead Assessor Qualification
• In-depth knowledge of OHS and Workers Compensation Legislation.
• Proven Risk Assessment experience.
• Experience as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer.
• Sound knowledge of the state Health and Safety legislation and Australian Standards.
• Some international experience desirable
• Experience in environmental management systems and compliance.
• Knowledge of marine offshore industry standards.
• Advanced Communication skills
• Planning and Operations skills
• Operational background in offshore and / or mining operations
• Good personnel management skills
